5 Savvy Things Dec 2024
Hi there!
I’m back with another round of 5 Savvy Things!
First, let me just say how grateful I am for you. Our community of savvy cooks, adventurers, and all-around explorers is growing, and I couldn’t be more excited! Thanks for being part of this journey with me. I’m thrilled to share more of what I’ve been loving, learning, and testing out this week.
In case you missed my first email, 5 Savvy Things is a roundup of things I’ve been enjoying or think you’ll find valuable—whether it’s a recipe, kitchen tip, tool, or something fun outside the kitchen. I absolutely love sharing the behind-the-scenes gems that make life a little more exciting!
So here goes... round two of 5 Savvy Things:
I Love Boos Cutting Boards!
A good cutting board is one of the most important tools in your kitchen, and John Boos boards are hands down the best! They protect your knives and their premium hardwood surface is more hygienic than plastic. The boards are beautiful, durable, and built to last—whether you’re chopping veggies or serving up a gorgeous charcuterie spread. I’ve been using mine for years, and I can’t imagine cooking without it!
This Mug Keeps Your Coffee Hot!
If you’re anything like me, your coffee never stays hot long enough—until now. The Ember Mug is an absolute must-have. It keeps coffee at the perfect temperature while I’m writing, running around, or just taking a moment to myself. No more trips to the microwave! Plus, it’s so comfortable to hold, it’s like a warm hug for your hands. It’s definitely a splurge, but trust me—it’s worth every penny. Whether it’s for you or someone you love, it’s the perfect kind of gift.
Don’t Miss the Martha Stewart Netflix Documentary
Martha Stewart’s journey is nothing short of legendary. From revolutionizing food and lifestyle to becoming a powerhouse businesswoman, The Netflix documentary Martha is told in her own words. It dives deep into her incredible successes—and doesn’t shy away from the challenges she’s faced along the way. Watching it really struck a chord with me; it’s inspiring, honest, and a reminder that reinvention is always possible.
Transform Your Health in 30 Minutes a Day!
The Faster Way to Fat Loss program is a total game-changer! I’ve been doing it for 2 years (I lost 10 pounds and kept it off!), and even my husband loves the workouts. Here’s why it works: the app gives you everything—a 6-week eating plan, daily at-home 3-minute workouts (no gym needed!), and an incredible coach who guides you every step of the way, teaching you how to burn fat and rev up your metabolism without starving yourself. All you need is a little space. It’s more affordable than a gym membership and super easy to fit into your life. Join now and get started with my own AMAZING coach. The link will lead you to her. Let’s do this! 💪
Bill Zehme’s Carson the Magnificent – A Must-Read
My dear friend Bill Zehme, whom we lost last year, left us one final treasure: Carson the Magnificent, a brilliant biography completed by Chicago writer/author Mike Thomas. It dives deep into Johnny Carson’s life and legacy. You can feel the complexity of the man who ruled late-night TV. Bill’s unique storytelling brings Carson to life in a way only he could—insightful, witty, and full of heart. It’s an incredible tribute to Carson and a beautiful reminder of Bill’s unmatched talent. A truly great read.
