tinto de verano

(Spain’s easiest summer drink)
We discovered this in Spain and immediately wondered why everyone everywhere isn't drinking it.
Tinto de Verano is what Spaniards drink when it’s hot and nobody is trying too hard. It’s just red wine and lemon soda over ice. That’s it. But somehow it tastes like vacation in a glass. Light, refreshing, and dangerously easy to keep ordering.
In Spain it shows up at beach bars, neighborhood cafés, and long lazy lunches. Once you start making it at home, you’ll understand why.

Hi Carolyn, great catch! You can absolutely use lime — it’s a wonderful twist and honestly might be even better in summer. And you’re right about the photo, I should have been more consistent! Use whatever citrus makes you happy. That’s the Savvy way!

Regarding your Tinto de Verano recipe, you say to add a slice of lemon but in your photo you show a slice of orange…..I love limes, can I substitute with a lime slice??
