The Bottle Lady Who Never Meant to Be the Bottle Lady 🧴

If you had told me in 2019 that I’d become “the bottle lady,” I would’ve laughed. But life is funny and here we are.

Back then, I was deep in my let’s-see-what-I-can-build era. My first Amazon product was beeswax wraps. Cute, useful… and a magnet for copycats from the minute I launched. Followed by canvas bags. My timing: flawless in the worst way. I had spent months learning the business. The UPC codes, packaging, supply chains — only to launch them right when every person on earth had the exact same idea.

So I went hunting for my next small product. My first real win. Pretty glass spray bottles with silicone sleeves in colors that made me happy. People loved them. Amazon loved them. Life was simple. Until it wasn’t.

As every small business owner eventually learns,  success on Amazon comes with a dark twin: clones. Bad ones. Cheap ones. Versions of your baby that make you want to puke.

Suddenly my bottles were everywhere, except they weren’t my bottles. They were imitations wearing my same outfit, but with the wrong shoes.

I kept going anyway. We rode out the copycats. We rode out COVID, when the world discovered that having spray bottles in every room suddenly made sense. But while demand went up, shipping costs went up even faster. And I don’t mean, “Ooh, a little bump.” I mean, “Why is this shipment suddenly the cost of a used Honda?”

We survived that too.

Then came tariffs — the nail in the coffin. Overnight, my shipments cost thousands of dollars more just to get to Amazon’s warehouse. Same product. Same size. Same everything. Just… thousands of dollars more. No warning. No mercy. No margin.

Let me tell you something:
Small businesses don’t die because they’re bad.
They die because the math stops working.

And yet I’m still here. Stubborn? Maybe. Hopeful? Always. In love with these bottles? Absolutely.

So I’ve made a decision. Instead of feeding the Amazon machine while everyone copies my homework, I’m trying an experiment: selling exclusively through my own Savvy Planet website. Direct to you. No middleman. No clones sneaking into the cart.

Just me, my bottles, and the people who’ve been with me since day one.

So here’s to the next chapter.
Here’s to fighting the good small-business fight.
And here’s to the cutest bottles that have ever existed. They’re perfect for your home, perfect as gifts, and now coming straight from me to you.

Let’s see where this goes. I have a good feeling.
