From Marianne: Mother's Day Aftermath ๐
We're just coming off Mother's Day weekend and I have to say โ it was a good one.
I got to pick the restaurant. And for that one day, everyone seemed to agree with me about everything.
I'll take it.
But I've been thinking about what this day actually means beyond the reservation, the flowers, and the gift. I mean the rest of the time. When it's not Mother's Day.
Being a mother changes you. Not just once, but over and over again. Mothering isn't just about raising kids. It's about how you take care of the people in your life. The way you show up and steady the environment when everything is chaos.
Sometimes it's your kids. Sometimes it's your partner. Sometimes it's a friend. And hopefully, sometimes it's yourself.
Mother's Day was the easy part.
It's the random Tuesdays that count.
And if there's one thing I've learned over the years: you don't get it perfect. You just keep showing up. For me, that ends up being enough.
