These sandwiches can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance. Follow the recipe up to the step where you pour the glaze and sprinkle the poppy seeds. Refrigerate and when ready to serve, let them sit at room temperature to take the chill off and then bake.
Place the bottom halves of the Hawaiian rolls in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar until smooth.
Spread half of the glaze evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls. Layer the ham evenly over the rolls.Add a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each roll.
Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese. Pour the remaining glaze evenly over the tops of the sandwiches, ensuring they are well coated.
Sprinkle the onion, herb or poppy seeds generously over the tops of the sandwiches.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the tops are golden brown.
Let the sandwiches cool for a couple of minutes, then use a serrated knife to separate them. Serve warm and watch them disappear!
